Consistency in terms of costs and quality
RAPA Automotive developed the first concepts for internal damper shift valves back in the early 2010s. We develop and produce these valves for damper manufacturers, i.e. Tier 1 system suppliers.
Since the start of series production in 2017, the damper switching valve has been produced by RAPA Automotive almost unchanged due to its reliably high quality. At the same time, it has been possible to optimize the cost structure.
By designing the damper valve as a 2/2-way switching valve, two different driving modes are made possible for the end customer. This makes it possible to offer an entry-level technology for electrically adjustable dampers that is more cost-effective than dampers with more complex proportional valves. Accordingly, an adaptive damper can already be offered in more price-sensitive vehicle segments such as the compact class.
