Air suspension solenoid valve block

Core component of an air suspension system

Proven technology for decades

The pneumatic solenoid valve blocks from RAPA Automotive are used for air distribution in air suspension systems and were developed entirely in-house. They have been continuously optimized for use in air suspension systems over decades and are now available with a weight-optimized plastic body.

The proven solution is used in countless vehicles worldwide and offers reliable performance. In order to be able to offer consistent quality, all blocks undergo 100% testing on end-of-line (EOL) test benches. The blocks are manufactured automatically at all three RAPA sites in Selb | Germany, Jintan | China and Auburn | USA.

The product structure established since the 2000s offers our customers worldwide the most attractive ratio of cost, flexibility and performance and can be fully customized to the user's needs.

Special solution with cross-check valve

More than ten years ago, the standard modular system was expanded to include the option of a transverse lock valve. Such a valve enables the two air springs of an axle to be connected in order to achieve improved suspension travel and thus optimized ground contact in off-road operation. Despite the identical valve size compared to standard valves, a high flow rate (NW 5.3 mm) is possible.

Customized solution

We adjust these parameters according to your wishes

  • Application-specific housing variant (connection of 4 mm / 6 mm PA pipes)
  • Coil design
  • Force level of the closing retaining spring
  • Nominal valve size (1.0 - 2.3 mm)
  • Pressure sensor (0 - 20 bar, 0 - 36 bar)
  • Additional pneumatic connections of several compressed air reservoirs
  • Color coding of the pneumatic connections

Technical Advantages of the RAPA Valve Block

  • Lowest leakage rates under worst-case conditions over the entire temperature range from -40 °C to +100 °C
  • Highly efficient solenoid valves that enable optimized use of materials (e.g. minimized use of copper in solenoid coils)
  • Wide range of variants thanks to flexible modular system with nominal valve widths of 1.0 - 2.3 mm and adaptation of the solenoid coils to various control units
  • Optional block-integrated pressure sensor (detection of the actual pressure on the valve block)
  • Suitable for use in the vehicle underbody (IP6KX / IPX7, IPX8 @ 1m / IPX9K according to ISO 20653)
